Our thoughts create our reality, they empower or disempower us. They keep us in a holding pattern or release us into the greatness that exists within. They shy away from pain or lean in to the breakthrough. Our thoughts are a reflection of the patterns we have set, it stands to reason then that as we adjust the patterns, the thoughts are adjusted also. And as thought adjusts the outcomes do too, finally bringing about that which we truly desire.
Perhaps it’s time to take captive your thoughts, and experience that which has been awaiting you.
If your familiar with quantum physics then you’ve likely heard of the theory that ‘The Observer Creates Reality’. It’s one of those concepts that most struggle to conceptualise, but it’s amazing when scientists measure it in action. I recently came across the following entry on productivity501.com and instantly was reminded of how often well meaning individuals limit others capacity through their biased observations.
WHo have you been allowing to influence your perception of self? Perhaps it’s time to get around higher quality people.
A group of scientists were given a number of rats to test on mazes. Scientists just love running rats through mazes. Anyway, half the rats were normal. They were told that the other half were “super rats bred to be much smarter than normal rodents. In another experiment, teachers were given a classroom of students.
Becoming masterful at the art of communication helps us in just about any situation, whether negotiating in the business world or forging lifelong friendships. The thing is that the effectiveness of our communication is measured by the response it receives. Often, people misrepresent their message by holding an intention in mind but communicating it in a manner which counters the desired outcome. Learning to congruently convey our message increases its effectiveness and our ability to influence outcomes far more.
A great place to begin is simply by observing the nuances present in others communications with us and how their words are either being reflected in their body language, tonality, speed of speech etc. or not. The act of observation begins to bring into our awareness how we in turn respond to these styles of communication and how we might adjust our own. Here’s a great article to begin with to start developing sensory acuity around the tell tale signs of whether someone is being open with their message or not. I trust it adds value in expanding your own communication.
Our bodies can often be more honest than our words when it comes to communicating our thoughts, feelings, and intentions. When we choose what to say, we’re often using the executive parts of our brains (the “neocortex”). This part of the brain is responsible for conscious attention, language, and thinking, all of which we have a degree of control over with some effort.
Ever noticed how when people speak about a goal they’d like to achieve their enthusiasm in the initial stages is usually quite high. That is until the moment when working towards the goal hits a few bumps in the road and they find themselves suddenly confronted with having to do the not so fun things to make things happen. Usually that’s right about the same point in time when most dreams or goals are put on hold or even abandoned.
The thing about successful people though, is that they’re very aware that along the way to reaching their outcomes, doing the things they don’t feel like doing, or don’t know how to do, will need to be done. They work it into their plans and when the moment comes, they just get on with it. For most though, the disciplines and mindset around getting things done needs to first be learnt or developed.
In this entry Farnoosh Brock shares some tips on tilting the scales in our favor to empower self to move forward.
The alarm goes off at 5am. You are awakened from a state of deep sleep and rush over to the bathroom to turn off the sound. (Please tell me I’m not the only one who puts her alarm in the bathroom and not on the nightstand?)
Sometimes we have a lot going on in life and we can often begin to feel overwhelmed. Sometimes the pressure of all the different obligations and responsibilities can seem like it’s all too much. We get stressed and may even begin to lose our effectiveness. And as that occurs we suddenly find ourselves well and truly high strung. But it needn’t be the case. That’s because overwhelm, like most any feeling, is the result of running a particular strategy. And when we know how to interrupt the strategy we can minimise its onset or even completely remove it.

No matter where we find ourselves in life, we have the ability to become more, if we would only choose to, then take action. Often times we find ourselves challenged to step up within our careers, families or community when we least expect it. It’s these unexpected surprises that catch people of guard and can result in a person retreating from going to the next level. But it needn’t be the case.
